1. Remove the robot from the pool. Place the robot on a flat, dry surface.
2. Make sure the robot is turned OFF.
3. Press the black switch on the top of the robot to open the filter lid and remove the filter basket.
4. Remove the filter top by pressing the clips on the sides.
5. Rinse the lid and the filter with a garden hose on the highest stream.
6. Place the filter lid back onto the filter basket, it will click into place
7. Return the filter basket to its place. To reinstall the filter lid, place the filter lid clips underneath the black grooves and with a slight push it will click into place.
Before placing the robot in the pool, press the left-side button on the top of the robot to turn it on.
1. A flashing blue LED indicator will light up and activate the welcome voice alert.
2. Place the robot in the pool, making sure that the water covers the top of the robot. When the cleaning starts, the LED indicator will stop flashing blue and will switch to a solid blue.
To remove the robot from the pool, use the hook included with the Niya, by attaching it to a suitable pole (not included). When removing the robot, take care not to knock the robot on the wall of the pool to not cause damage to the device.
Turn the robot OFF after removal, by pressing and holding down the left-side switch on the top of the robot.
Charge your Niya in a shaded, dry area with a GFCI outlet. Do not use an extension cord to connect the battery charger to the electrical socket. For user safety, place the battery charger at least 4 feet above the ground while in use.
1. Connect the charger to the robot in the charging dock on the top of the robot, then plug the charger into the electrical outlet. The LED indicator will light up steady RED during the charging process.
2. When the device is fully charged, the LED indicator will show steady GREEN. After 10 minutes, it will turn off automatically.
3. Disconnect the charger from the robot and the electrical socket.
It takes 1.5-2 hours for the Sonar 50 to charge fully. The cleaning cycle times are 2-2.5 hours.

You can download the Niya App to your mobile device from either the Google Play store for Android or the App store for iOS. You can also scan the appropriate QR code here:
The app is compatible with the following smart devices:
Apple (iOS) – Version 10 and up – iPhone, iPad
Android – Version 5 and up operating system
Before replacing the battery, make sure to dry off the robot completely from any water droplets, sand, or other foreign objects. We recommend leaving the robot standing idle for 2 days to ensure that all moisture from the device has completely evaporated. The battery should be disposed of properly at a certified battery electronics recycling location. They should not be discarded as waste and placed in municipal recycling bins or garbage bins.
For optimal operation of the robot, we recommend the following water parameters for the pool.
The water temperature, pH, chlorine, and salinity should comply with the following, as indicated in the warranty statement you received with your robot:
Chlorine Maximum 4 PPM pH 7.0 - 7.8 PPM
Temperature41-95°F
NaCl Maximum = 5000 PPM
How to store the NIYA robot for off-season storage:
1. Make sure there is no water left in the pool cleaner. We recommend letting the robot stand idle for 2 days to ensure that all moisture from the device has completely evaporated.
2. Thoroughly clean the filter basket, make sure it is completely dry, and then insert it into place.
3. Store the robot in a protected area away from direct sunlight/rain/frost at a temperature between 32 – 104 degrees F.
4. Charge the pool cleaner once every 3 months to prevent battery depletion.
We recommend taking the Niya out after each use to empty and clean the filter. Then store it in a cool, dry place when it is not in use. We also recommend rinsing the robot cleaner with clear water regularly to remove any excess chemical or salt residue.
We recommend not using the pool while the robot is working. Once the robot has completed the cleaning cycle, we recommend removing the robot from the pool.
Make sure it is fully charged by plugging it into a working outlet and letting it charge for 2.5-3 hours. If the robot still does not turn on, please contact customer care.
Make sure the pool temperature is not higher than 59°F, as this can affect the robot's ability to climb.
We recommend cleaning the filter basket to ensure the robot can climb properly. Click here for filter cleaning steps. A clogged filter can affect the robot's climbing ability.
For the Sonar 50 and Sonar 70, make sure the Floor- only mode is not set in the niya app. Make sure to set the robot on Slow speed while in Wall or Waterline mode.
For the Sonar 70, make sure the foam cartridge is not installed in the filter basket.
The Sonar 50 has three cleaning modes: Standard Mode, Floor Only, and Walls Only. The default cleaning setting is Standard. On Standard mode, the robot will clean the floor, walls, and the waterline. On Wall Only, the robot will clean the walls and waterline. On Floor Only, the robot will clean the floor only.
The modes can be changed directly on the robot, by pressing the button on the top of the device. Press the button to choose a mode, each press will change the mode. When a mode is selected, there is a voice alert confirming the mode selected.
The cleaning mode can also be changed in the mobile app.
