My Dolphin won’t climb the walls or move sideways on walls

First, make sure the pool isn't too cold – a low pool temperature can make it difficult for the robot to climb. The temperature should be higher than 59°F.

Let's verify that the levels of your pool chemicals are within the recommended range, as pH levels that are too high or too low can make it difficult for the robot to climb:

If your robot has a fast mode or "Floor Only" mode, (only for models compatible with the MyDolphin/MyDolphin™ Plus app or with the power supply unit) verify that these modes have not been set by mistake.

If you are using the Ultra-Fine (paper) filters it should be white in color – if the filter is brown or green, clean it with a garden hose on the highest pressure. If the filters do not wash back to white – they are due to be replaced.

If you have a Fine (net) filter – try running the robot with the Net Filters installed. If the robot climbs, then this is an indication that the Ultra-Fine filters are due to be replaced.

Caution: Before you check the impeller, please make sure the power supply unit is unplugged from the outlet. Do not use a power drill.

If you notice debris trapped in the impeller, open the impeller, remove the debris, and reassemble it. (Use a Phillips screwdriver).

Make sure it's aligned diagonally to help the robot climb (one side of the handle on the highest slot, and the other on the lowest).

For slow waterline cleaning: Put one end of the handle in the first slot, and the other end of the handle in the second slot (pictured above on the left side)

For fast waterline cleaning: Put one end of the handle in the third slot, and the other end of the handle in the fourth slot (pictured above the right side)

If your robot doesn't have a handle, or the robot still isn't climbing or cleaning the waterline, make sure the robot has enough cable to allow it to climb the wall – the cable can pull the robot back if there's not enough of it!

To check if you have the correct amount of cable in the pool, measure the same length of cable as the longest length of your pool. Remember it's important to not put too much cable so that it doesn't get tangled.
