My impeller is clogged on my Liberty - How do I clean it?


Caution! This robot is connected to a battery, and following the steps below are requested to be performed as written only!

If your Liberty robot does not come with an impeller Cleaning Safety Clip, follow the steps below:


Make sure that your Dolphin Liberty is outside of the pool and turned off.

  1. Please turn the Dolphin Liberty on.
  2. After 3 seconds, turn it off.
  3. Wait for 30 seconds to ensure that the robot is off. This can be visually verified by making sure that no LEDs are blinking, or on.
  4. Open the Liberty top cover and pull the filter basket out.
  5. Visually inspect the impeller and remove any visible debris.



If your Liberty robot comes with an impeller Cleaning Safety Clip, follow the steps below:


Make sure that your Dolphin Liberty is outside of the pool and turned off.

  1. Connect the charger to the robot
  2. Wait until the blue LED stops blinking before continuing with the steps.
  3. Wait for 30 seconds to ensure that the robot is off. This can be visually verified by making sure that no LEDs are blinking, or on.
  4. Open the Liberty top cover and pull the filter basket out. Keep the charger connected during the cleaning process.
  5. Open the top cover and remove the filter basket.
  6. Insert the impeller cleaning safety clip.
  7. (If the debris is not reachable) Use a screwdriver and open the screws on the top cover.
  8. Pull the impeller cover backward to release it.
  9. Clean the debris trapped around the impeller. Use caution as the impeller blades are sharp.
  10. Reassemble the impeller cover and remove the impeller cleaning safety clip.
  11. Return the filter and close the lid.
